Pigmented Villonodular Synovitis (PVNS)
Respected Doctors, Is there any proven medicine in homeopathy for PVNS? I consulted a homeopathy doc and he suggested the medicine for just synovitis that helps in reducing the inflammation. But not sure if you have cured anyone with pvns without surgery. Orthopedic is suggesting for surgery which I want to avoid. As per research, surgery is the only option in English medicine. Could you please let me know if this can be cured using homeopathy? If yes, I can consult for further diagnosis. Regards,

PVNS is an autoimmune disorder with genetic linkage. It can never be cure with any form of medicine or surgery. It can be well treated and managed with homeopathic medicine effectively and without any side effects. Even if you opt for surgery...the chances of recurrence are high. Even if your symptoms are better by 80 to 90 percent...then also it is as good as a cure. Don't expect a magical result with homeopathic medicine, after all it's a science. It needs to be well managed with the right form of medicine. You need an expert Homeopathic physician asap.

PVNS is a structural pathology, and surgery is considered the definitive treatment. However, homeopathy can help in reducing inflammation, pain, and slowing the progression, but it cannot replace surgery in advanced cases. A detailed evaluation is needed to understand the extent and guide supportive treatment.

There are no specifics in Homoeopathy especially in chronic conditions. The approach of a homoeopathic physician would be in this condition to target the pathophysiology which is of hypertrophy and inflammation. Respected Sir, Thank you for writing your concern. I completely understand the worry and confusion you may be experiencing right now. Pigmented Villonodular Synovitis (PVNS) is a rare condition, and when different doctors give different opinions, it becomes very stressful for any patient who wants to avoid surgery. Your doubt is absolutely valid, and it is wise that you are exploring every possible option before taking a final decision. PVNS is generally considered a proliferative disorder of the synovium, and conventional orthopaedic treatment mainly recommends surgery. However, in homeopathy we approach this condition differently. Instead of treating PVNS as just inflammation, we work on the deeper imbalance that causes abnormal synovial growth, repeated swelling, and joint stiffness. Many patients who come to me with synovial disorders, chronic swelling, or PVNS-like symptoms are able to avoid surgery when treatment is started on time and followed regularly. In my 23 years of practice, I have managed several challenging joint conditions, where patients were advised surgery but improved significantly with personalised homeopathic treatment. Progress depends on the type of PVNS (localized or diffuse), how long it has been present, MRI findings, and the patient’s overall constitution. With the right medicines, we often see reduced swelling, better mobility, decrease in pain, and slowing or halting of further progression. Homeopathy supports natural healing of the synovium and prevents recurrent fluid accumulation, giving long-term relief without invasive procedures. However, PVNS cannot be treated with a general synovitis medicine. It needs a detailed case study, including MRI reports, pain patterns, mobility restrictions, and your individual physical and emotional constitution. Only after understanding this can we determine whether the condition is fully reversible or stabilizable without surgery. You are making the right decision by seeking clarity before agreeing to any surgical intervention. Many patients later feel they should have explored non-surgical options earlier, especially when the condition is not aggressive or is in a manageable stage. If you wish, I can evaluate your case in detail and guide you honestly about your recovery possibility. I am Dr. Jyoti Kadkol, Homeopathic Physician with 23 years of clinical experience, treating patients across India and internationally. I have extensive experience in managing complex joint conditions, chronic inflammation, and synovial disorders holistically. You may share your MRI reports or consult directly for further guidance.
