Phobia of dark
I have fear of being alone in dark whether it is a familiar environment or not. That is why i cannot sleep alone at night. I started having this fear after a traumatic experience at night, 15 years ago. I want to finally overcome this fear and move ahead. Issue is, that i do not know who should i consult. I have met psychiatrist before for depression and anxiety but they simply gave meds and a bit of advice. They did not talk much. So pls guide me, do i need a psychiatrist or psychologist who can do counseling?

Phobia is fear of particular object .. you can reduce it by more exposure, flooding or slowly slowly expose to it which is so called systematic desensitization
