Pediatric EEG
Our doc has recommended and referred my one year old baby for an EEG. Nothing serious but we have a doubt and Doc said it's better to clarify it by doing an EEG. My question is, will they sedate baby while doing EEG?

EEG is the abbreviation of electroencephalogram, which is the recording of electrical activity produced by the brain. The activity is recorded on a computer and a video recording of your child is made at the same time. The entire test will take between 60-75 minutes. It is difficulty for the child to lie still for that time , other activities may lead to artifact's and may interfere in the correct assessment of the child ,that's why we need to sedate the child .
Health Tips
If your child is due a nap around the appointment time please if possible try and postpone this until they arrive in the department as this may make it easier for them to settle.
