PCOS and Depression
I am a patient of PCOS since last year...I have irregular cycles since the time I got my first periods...I consulted one endocrinologist...but couldn't continue with whatever he said...am facing male pattern baldness and facial hair...my arms are full of acne...am a patient of depression also...I consulted one psychiatrist but didn't continue with those antidepressants because my family didn't want me to...I often get mood swings...and right now am feeling helpless...I want to resume the treatment... so how should I start??

Pcos is becoming a very common condition in girls these days because of our present lifestyle. You need to understand that Its a genetic tendency and can never get cured. It is only temporarily controlled by lifestyle modification, low carbohydrate diet, exercise, weight loss and medicines off and on. You need to get your hormones checked like tsh, free testosterone, prolactin, f/pp insulin and accordingly start medication for three to six months. The lifestyle measures a should continue so that you are less dependent on medicines
