Three things to be considered:
1) severity of pain
2) activity levels
3) duration since injury
If the severity of pain is high and activity levels of yours is more daily activity and no sports at all..then with rest and exercises the pain would come down.
The meniscus tear being a grade 2 extending onto the capsule will require a repair. Please can you take pics and send Mri films to my number nine six eight six three four three five eight zero..to tell exact plan of treatment.
