Whenever I cry i feel like the air around me is slowly disappearing. I'm always normal but as soon as I start to cry i just can't control my breathing. I have to bite my hand or anywhere on my body to control the gasping for air...
I used to have a cat who helped me through it but now since he is gone i don't know how to stop them except for biting my hand.

Hello dear
I can understand what you might be going through and how you might be feeling. It might be hard for you to control your breathing and body when you go through certain emotions. Since your cat is no more, it might have become more difficult for you to cope up with this.
Don't worry, consult a good psychologist or a therapist as soon as possible.
You can also contact me and I will try to help you towards your recovery. Let's discuss your issues in detail so that you can find your own solutions.
Take care. Stay safe and strong. Everything will be alright. You got this!
Hi... Please seek counselling for your concerns. You are supposedly going through a lot of emotional struggles due to various possible reasons. It's very normal for young adults these days to experience such phases. Weekly guidance and counselling sessions can help you overcome your issues and develop necessary skills and strength to deal with them. This breathing issue while crying is also possibly a panic response which will get better with Counselling. You can also try doing some breathing exercises (deep breathing, alternate nostril breathing, etc.) to establish control.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist.
CBT along with Lifestyle Guidance and Interpersonal Counselling is required.
