Pain near the carotid pulse.

I've been having this neck pain near my carotid pulse for a few days now. its like sharp pain that goes on and off. My carotid pulse beats strongly and sometimes fast. First time it started when i got almost mad at my boss. i felt like my neck tighten plus my tie on my suit was a bit tight. I went up stairs to a stand by clinic, I'm not sure how you really call it but i had my Blood pressure taken there and it was normal, thats the next day actually. So right now, im worried
