From the given history it seems that, he might be having infection of the oral cavity which may or may not be due to tooth / teeth & requires in office examination of the oral cavity by the dentist
or
at least share clinical photograph of the area affected so as to have consultation along with Treatment plan & prescription of medicine

Hello, i understand your concern .Tooth pain can be due to infections,deep caries,periodontitis,or abcess,trauma from occlusion .As per your description provided he is not taking any other medication and there is no medical history and no allergy then only he can take this medicine otherwice do not take this medication before consulting your physician or you can consult me online for further help.

Take ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 3 days at 6 hours difference and tab amoxclav 625mg thrice a day for 3 days at 8 hour difference.

The tooth ache can be due to any infection, abcsess, dental caries, or periodontitis or may be mobile..
I advice to take, blumox capsule for two days, two times a day and tablet aceclofenac, two times a day for three days.
In case if your father is having any other medications or past medical history, I advise you not to take the medication and consult me before taking medicines.
Then take an xray and verify the condition of teeth.
