Symptoms suggest Enthesopathy ( inflammation of bone tendon junctions).  This is inflammatory in nature. Try alternating  Ice packs and hot compression. Keep affected limb elevated. Medications like Enzomac, Evion, Identical K2 and Orthocort will help reduce swelling and pain.
