You might have strained your back muscles due to sudden stretching. The muscles are relaxed when we sleep so we should be careful before suddenly stretching them. Do proper warm up movements before stretching.

Did you have any pain previously? Do you use a fat pillow? You must have strained your neck while you were stretching. Give it some rest. Then just start neck movements slowly. It should relieve within 2-3 days. If not, then please meet a physiotherapist.
