Pain after rct
Hi I've been experiencing slight pain in my root canaled tooth today. Pain occurs only when I apply pressure to it with my own teeth. Is this a sign of failed rct or is it happening due to the after effects of rct or one of the seal of canal is broken? My obturation happened in September.

Hi mam...   Pain in Root canal treated tooth may be due to many cause.... It may be due to improper cleaning and obturation... To rule out this you have to take X_ray of that concerned tooth....and if there is any reinfection you need to go for Re _RCT.... Failure to put capping on that concerned tooth also cause Re infection ... As you specified you have pain during biting, If you put Capping on that Root canal treated tooth then check for high points ....
Next Steps
kindly visit dentist for furthur conaultation and management

Hii, there are few things firstly if your root canal treatment is well done ,it's properly sealed then also you are going to experience pain for some time  as this process involves deep cleaning of canals which in turn can irritate surrounding nerves and tissues. If the pain is mild you can take mild pain killers and this pain should decrease over time. After obturation is permanent filling and crown done??? If yes then you might have high points which you can get corrected from your dentist. If not there are chances of reinfection for that also you to see your dentist for accessing the tooth.
Next Steps
please see your dentist without delay
Health Tips
don't bite hard on that side.

Get the tooth checked and an X-ray done. A root canal tooth that is not capped can fracture. Check for infection and if it is ok then get capping done for your tooth
