OSMF itself will cause grey patches and is not because of steriods. Oral sub mucus fibrosis comes u der pre- malignant condition ( ie if it's left untreated or if the habit is continued high chances it will turn into malignancy ).
Next Steps
You should be under regular follow-up  with your specialist  untill the lesion resolves.
Health Tips
Quit the habit completely. Never start it again in future. Have your medicines regularly. Have a well balanced diet.

Hi, Its good you stopped eating Tobacco. Grey Patches might be present even before u quit tobacco which you might have not noticed and definitely not because of medication. Seek Doctors help for further Treatment
Next Steps
Start taking Anti Oxidant tablets (Tab. Lycostar) once a day for at least 3 months.
Health Tips
Avoid Chewing Tobacco or Smoking Tobacco.Avoid Spicy and Hot food

Hi, Yes in OSMF condition you will see grey patches on the buccal mucosa. Its not because of steroids intake. Do you have pain in mouth opening and difficulty in having spicy food??? Your mouth opening is restricted or its normal ? Attach your oral cavity image for appropriate treatment plan. For detail discussion contact on personal chat box.
Next Steps
Visit dentist for clinical examination
Health Tips
Quit smoking and pan masala if you still do and don't eat spicy food. If your condition is moderate then only with medicine your condition can be resolved. In case of severe condition then we give injections and other treatment plan.
