Is this film of my father left wrist x-rays required any operation for normal function ? His wrist got fractured on 16 september. Got plastered after 45 days plaster was cut. Then doctor suggested to exercise and make movement in wrist. However his wrist is still swelled and some pain and has not gained full grip. Does it suggest any operation ? He is 65 year old.

He got distal radius fracture treated in a plaster. Now more than 6 weeks. Function wise he will be fine. No surgery required at present. Go for good Physiotherapy. And wait. He will have some cosmetic deformity. But functions wise he will be fine. He can do most of the activities. At this age no need of any surgery
