Hello, The following will be markers of addictive behaviour or dependence- 1. Inability to cut down on the behaviour. 2. Excess time spent on activity. 3. Neglect of other percievedly pleasurable activities. 4. Craving or urge to engage in chatting behaviour. 5. Ensuing guilt and self reproach. 6. Increasing time spent on activity. 7. Social withdrawal from real time world. Etc. If the above mentioned are true for your chatting behaviour please seek help from a qualified professional like a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist. Your condition/behaviour can be helped with a well planned psychological intervention. Need for any medication will have to be decided after initial assessment. Hope this helps you. Best wishes for your health and future.
