Omnacortil syrup
Kid was having severe cold and cough for the past two weeks. Doctor prescribed Montair LC kid syrup and it is reduced. He checked and said that there is mild cough and cold and prescribed Omnacortil syrup now(7ml) in morning and afternoon for 3 days. Is it safe for 3 year old boy? Heard that it is a steroid and it will weaken the immune system. Kindly suggest.

Steroids for short course like 3 days won't suppress immunity. If a pediatrician has given it, then it's absolutely safe. Please follow his/her advise
