OCPD Treatment
Hi, I am suffering from ocpd , what is the first line treatment for ocpd ? SSRI'S or antipsychotic ? I don't want psychotherapy as it is very costly . Why psychiatry is helpless when it comes to treat personality disorder ?

OCPD or any other personality disorder is that some components of your personality have dominated over other components which is making you dis functional in your personal, Social or occupational life. Person is born with a certain temperament but personality develops over life time SSRI or antipsychotic work well for treatment of co morbidity like depression/anxiety/ psychotic episodes in PD but it takes time for some one to change there personality that is were psychotherapy helps There is no magic pill to change personality

Hii , there is an equal importance for both therapy and medications. Under proper treatment personality disorders can be treated successfully and regarding the medications it is always the symptomatic management. You can get therapy sessions tru practo if your are willing . Thank you
