I am suffering from this problem since long time. If i don't pray in day i feel so disturbed that i can't do a single work. Before starting every work i need join hand before God n Shake my head (like talking to God n taking confirmation to do that work) then only I can do that work. In between doing some work i get up n join hands before god, if i don't do this. It would be impossible for me to the work. Also m taking confirmation from people several times for same this. I am in private service n because of such actions of joining hands n shaking hands (even in meeting during important discussion) my personal as well as professional life become very stressful. I don't remind when i lastly relax for while. Continuous thoughts are coming in mind, sometime sucide option also come in mind to get rid of this. My life is getting ruined. Pls help.

Continuous thoughts effecting your personal n professional life needs to addressed as early as possible. Medications can help control of those thoughts...as suffering is a lot. Sucide is not an option to control these thoughts...you can lead normal life after treatment... Don't worry and consult Psychiatrist soon. After assessment if any other associated symtoms Along with these compulsive behaviour medications would be prescribed.

The symptoms described by you suggest Obsessive-compulsive disorder and it’s chronic condition, which can’t be fixed without medications I understand how difficult this experience of intrusive thoughts can be, causing great distress It would be advisable to seek psychiatric help asap and then reach out to a clinical psychologist for a structured therapy program.

Are you afraid that something bad will happen, if you don’t do that action? Do you feel compelled to do even though you don’t want to? Are there any other unwanted, recurrent thoughts or actions that you do like repeated cleaning or repeated checking? Could be a compulsive act as a part of OCD. You need to consult a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist & undergo behaviour therapy or anti-obsessional medications.
