Numbing cream for ear piercing

Hi, my daughter is 11 months old and we haven't pierced her ear yet. Is it okay to use a numbing cream before a gunshot piercing. Could you please suggest a numbing cream that is safe to use and does not have any side effects? I saw some people using Prilox on the earlobes, please let me know your thoughts on this.
