Not drinking milk
My baby is 2 months 10 days old and is on exclusive formula feeding because I am not able to breastfeed. For the last more than one week, he has not been drinking his milk properly. Even after 5 hours since his last feed, he does not seem hungry. Whenever we try to feed him with the bottle, he starts crying badly and refuses to drink. He does not have a fever, diarrhea, or any other obvious illness. His birth weight was 2.7 kg, and at 10 weeks he weighs 4.7 kg. At present, we are somehow feeding him with a dropper because he is refusing the milk Could you please suggest what could be the possible reason and what we should do?

A baby refusing feeds for more than a week is not considered normal and should be examined by a pediatrician. The common causes include painful reflux, oral ulcers/thrush, bottle-feeding issues, or less commonly an underlying illness. Since your baby’s weight gain has been satisfactory so far, this appears to be a recent problem. Please avoid force-feeding, offer smaller frequent feeds, and have your baby evaluated so the mouth, ears, hydration, and feeding technique can be assessed. If the baby is taking much less than usual, has reduced urine output, becomes sleepy, or develops fever or vomiting, seek medical attention urgently.
