Take chhachh and curds. Avoid Fats. Take carbohydrates of your choice, rice or chapatis. Lots of water indirectly, like nimbu paani, roofafza in diluted milk and curds. Certain fruits vegetable like mangoes cucumber have water and are easy to digest. Don't take heavy foods and medicines and supplements. Rely on natural products. Can you specify more about your symptoms over a consult or call please Bút as I can understand the likely Causes of Your Symptoms after typhoid + heavy antibiotic use can be 1. Antibiotic-Associated Diarrhea (AAD) • Broad-spectrum antibiotics like Meropenem and Cefoperazone kill gut flora. • This can result in persistent diarrhea and bloating. 2. Secondary Lactose Intolerance • Temporary damage to intestinal lining may cause transient lactase deficiency, leading to bloating and loose stools after dairy. 3. Clostridium difficile Infection (CDI) • One of the most serious causes of persistent diarrhea post-antibiotics. • Often missed unless specifically tested. 4. Post-Infectious IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) • After typhoid, some people develop chronic IBS-like symptoms (abdominal pain, bloating, irregular stools). • May take months to settle. 5. SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) • Disruption of normal gut flora can lead to overgrowth of bad bacteria in small intestine → bloating, gas, diarrhea. Số I would say Please don’t continue self-medicating. First get h these done Stool routine and culture-Rule out infections or C. difficile Stool for C. difficile toxin A/B (ELISA)-Crucial if you have ongoing diarrhea post-antibiotics-CBC, CRP, ESR Look for lingering inflammation Liver Function Test (LFT)-To assess general digestion and liver-related causes Lactose intolerance test (optional)- If you suspect dairy is worsening symptoms Treatment - These can be used If C. difficile positive → Specific treatment with oral vancomycin or fidaxomicin (under doctor’s supervision). • If SIBO suspected → Rifaximin course for 10–14 days + diet modification. • If Post-infectious IBS → Gut-directed therapy, possibly antispasmodics + diet. • Probiotics: Use one with Lactobacillus GG or Saccharomyces boulardii (like Darolac-SB, Vizylac GG, or Florastor), and take it for at least 4–6 weeks continuously. Diet Tips That Actually Help • Strictly avoid milk and milk products for now (including paneer, cream). • Eat soft, low-FODMAP diet: khichdi, boiled rice, oats, moong dal, banana, apple (steamed). • Avoid: Raw salads, fried foods, excess fiber, dairy, wheat initially. • Stay hydrated (ORS or electrolyte water), and include zinc supplements (like Zinconia 20 mg OD for 10–14 days). You Need to See a Gastroenterologist If: • Symptoms persist another 1–2 weeks despite these steps. • You’ve lost >10% body weight or have blood/mucus in stool. • There’s any night-time diarrhea or fever.
