Not able to control eating dry wall POP
I always linked the smells of paints, petrol, whitener, phenyl and stuff like that. But recently I have developed a strong affinity towards these smell, so much so I deliberately try to smell these things wherever available and feel like eating this stuff. Now from pas a few days i have developed a habit of eating dry wall( wall putty) . Whenever I smell the above mentioned things the urge to eat wall putty increases and i end up eating some. Kindly guide me to the right consultation.

Wall putty contains some hazardous chemicals which are harmful to humans. You should consult with an psychiatrist at the earliest to get counselling , considering your strong affinity for inhaling organic solvents.

Hello, I'm Dr. Nikhil Aggarwal. Thank you for reaching out to me with your concern. It sounds like you may be experiencing a condition called "pica," which is characterized by an intense craving to eat non-food items. Pica can be caused by a variety of factors, including nutrient deficiencies, stress, and underlying mental health conditions. Given your recent habit of eating drywall and your strong affinity towards certain smells, I would recommend that you seek a consultation with a mental health professional or a medical doctor who specializes in addiction medicine. They can help you identify the underlying cause of your pica and develop a treatment plan to address it. In the meantime, I would advise you to avoid exposing yourself to the smells that trigger your urge to eat drywall. Additionally, it's important to avoid consuming non-food items, as this can lead to serious health complications such as intestinal blockages and poisoning. I hope this information is helpful, and I encourage you to seek professional help as soon as possible.
