NOSE BLOCK AND SOUND WHEN TAKING BREATH

Dear doctor My baby is 2 months old. He is suffering from blocked nose since 10 days. There is a sound when he takes breath. Very mild cough. No fever . Just going to local hospital and doctor gave me ceff drop and Wikoryl AF as medicine. But ceff drop is an antibiotic medicine. So I am hesitate to start the medicine as there is no severe cough or fever. Can I give antibiotic for the mild symptom. Kindly help me.

Only instill nasal saline drops as many time as nose get blocked....instill only 1drop at a time in both nostril... No need of antibiotic if no fever or more cough and if baby taking BF well...

Babies will have noisy breathing till 4 months of age.

Next Steps

Use saline nasal drops (1 drop) in each nostril. If baby is feeding well and gaining weight, doesn’t worry about the noisy breathing.
