No motivation after antidepressants tx
I have been depressed since childhood and always wanted to run away n live alone.I also started having anxiety issues and emotional numbness when I reached high school age. When I was 15,an uncle tried to molest me and my emotional numbness got worse.I struggled all throughout college due to depression and passed with difficulty.Depression got worse after the covid pandemic since I'm stuck at home all day. Finally I consulted a psychiatrist.I was initially prescribed sertraline.Took it for 5 months but it didn't work out.im taking escitalopram since 3 months, ever since I started it I lost all my motivation. It did help me with my memory issues ,mood etc.But now I dont feel anything,I dont even feel seriousness of situations.I have no motivation to something productive.Im just passing time. What should I do?

Lack of motivation is part of Depressive symptoms. Escitalopram is a antidepressant belongs SSRI class, however many a time SSRI doesn't help in improving motivation level. It requires change in treatment strategy. Consult a psychiatrist and discuss this issue. Hopefully change it in treatment will definitely help you.
