Nexito plus 5 MG full course
What is the Nexito plus 5 MG full course. As priscribed by my psychiatrist Doctor I am taking Nexito plus 5 MG daily after dinner from last 15 days. Please suggest for how long I have to continue this as I am feeling much better in my Generalized anxiety disorder. What will be the complete course ?

Hi Welcome to practo. The treatment for generalised anxiety disorder is continued for a year. Usually the SSRI alone are required for such long period and clonazepam is taken only when required basis. So, depending upon the response and side effects drug doses ca be adjusted and once you are symptom free, then same dose is to be continue.  After a year or so , doses can be reduced slowly and then can be stopped. Nexito plus is combination of escitalopram 5mg and clonazepam 0.5mg. For generalized anxiety SSRI ( in this case escitalopram) is used for prolonged period but bezodiazepine ( clonazepam) is usually disconnected after acute crisis is over. You better follow your treating psychtrist on scheduled time

Kindly continue till the psychiatrist whom you have met has asked you to take. It isa continuous process and do not stop abruptly
