Nerve Sheath Tumor
Hello Doctors, Through an MRI Report, my mom has been diagnosed as having nerve Sheath Tumor and has been advised to undergo a surgery. Wanted to check if surgery is conducted would a rod have to be placed on her neck? And will that create problem for her in future. Is it possible to avoid surgery altogether. My mom is quite worried and can't see her being too worried. Thanks

Treatment options depend on location of the particular nerve sheath tumor. If it is causing symptoms then surgery becomes necessary as the tumor will not go away on its own. Regarding the rod , it has to do with what type of surgery is to be done.
Next Steps
Give detailed history and share MRI. Then only something can be commented.
