Care AI Shimmer
Hello. A pulling sensation or numbness involving one side of the upper lip can occur due to several causes, such as irritation of a facial nerve, early Bell's palsy, dental problems, vitamin B12 deficiency, anxiety-related muscle twitching, or, less commonly, a neurological condition. I would like to ask a few questions to understand this better: • Is there any numbness or weakness of the face? • Any difficulty smiling, closing the eye, or speaking? • Any dental pain, recent dental treatment, or lip injury? • Any headache, dizziness, or weakness in the arm or leg?
Next Steps
I can assess your symptoms in detail through a Practo consultation and guide you regarding the likely cause, whether any investigations are needed, and the appropriate treatment.
Health Tips
If you also have facial weakness, difficulty speaking, or weakness of the limbs, please go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
