I went to an ENT and while getting pushed out the door I said recently they haven’t been as blocked and now I hear crackling when I swallow. He said good it means it’s getting better. The ENT was trying to get rid of me while I was asking questions. I would like to know why he said they are getting better if they are crackling.

You seem to be suffering from eustachian tube dysfunction which usually occurs secondary to common cold. Usually during recovery you will have crackling sound coming out of ear recurrently during yawning, mouth opening. So doctor was right in saying that
