Nail problem in middle left finger (3yr)

Asked for Male, 18 Years

I had perfect nail in past suddenly it started getting white and thick i tried to remove that from mouth but it didn't really work. Slowly with lots of efforts i was able to remove that infected nail but I don't know what went wrong its mot getting proper, rather new nail is growing covering the infected part. Now my nail is not in perfect shape its bumped up. My physician recommended to get rid of whole nail by surgery and new one will be perfect. What shall I do?
