My wife is suffering from depression since 1996. She has been consulted by the concerned different doctors but in vain. She is avoiding society, friends etc. and do not attend any social functions. Generally prefers to take rest and remain at home. Will the hypnotherapy can bring my wife to normal ?

Talk to experienced psychiatrist online and get your health questions answered in just 5 minutes.
Loss of interest, decreased concentration and attention, feeling low and disturbed sleep or appetite are some of the signs of depression. Consult a psychiatrist who will assess her in detail. If she is feeling suicidal or hopeless, seek professional help immediately.

Hi, hypnotherapy works for everyone. Which aspect of illness gets better and to what extent depends on patients motivation to heal along with the therapists expertise. It is a gradual shift which starts from 1 to 3 weeks of starting hypnotherapy and continues for long with long lasting effects. Medications are generally required to get the patient motivated and positive and deal with vegetative symptoms of depression. A pre-evaluation is done so ascertain whether patient understands what to expect from hypnotherapy. It requires patient responsibility taking attitude to be in action. Yes... patients do become normal... but first kindly define normal for me please...
