My son is having bone tb
My son has been detected with bone tb around 20 days back and is on medication since then. He had tb infection in spine and left knee joint. But now his swelling in left knee joint is increasing, is there anything to worry about.

Tuberculosis is a common diagnosis in india. Bones especially spine is the most common site of extra pulmonary involvement. ATT is very very effective in these cases. What is most essential is to have good nutritional support along with. Also the patient should be strictly on the bed untill signs of recovery are seen on consultation with orthopaedic surgeon. In case of no improvement in symptoms, worse ing of symptoms and increasing neurological deficit, immediately consult your orthopaedic. Keep close watch over disease activity and keep consulting your doctor.
Next Steps
This should be taken seriously. Non compliance to treatment may lead to resistant tuberculosis.
