Hello
You can consult with your paediatrician for reevaluation. Since blood in stools is still persistent you also have to monitor her hydration, urine output, vomiting if any.continue the medications and get a direct consultation
Greetings
Persistent bloody diarrhea with mucus in a 9-month-old infant requires immediate in-person medical re-evaluation.Since blood continues despite medications like Oflomac, her treatment plan must be revised by a pediatrician.Ongoing symptoms can indicate an antibiotic-resistant infection, drug-induced colitis, or an emergency needing ultrasound analysis.Monitor her closely for critical red flags like high fever, extreme lethargy, or vomiting.Check for dehydration signs including a dry mouth, sunken eyes, or reduced urination.
Hi
You have to visit your pediatrician. If the child is not improving on oral medicine then she might need hospitalisation and iv antibiotics.Don’t delay it.
1. Re-evaluate by a pediatrician today; persistent blood after 72 hours needs review.
2. Stool culture (if not done) and review antibiotic choice accordingly.
3. Continue ORS, breastfeeding/feeds, and zinc; monitor urine output.
4. Hospital admission if dehydration, persistent fever, frequent bloody stools, lethargy, or vomiting.
5. If severe abdominal pain, abdominal distension, or episodic crying develops, repeat evaluation despite the initial normal ultrasound, as intussusception can occasionally be intermittent.
