My heartbeat feels missing for a moment.
Hello, good evening, I have felt this sensation for many years. But I still don't know if this is called palpitation or if there is another name to it. For one or two seconds, the heartbeat feels like it has been paused and this happens out of nowhere, even when resting. I got a Holter monitor 2 to 3 weeks ago for irregular beats and it showed that there is 2nd-degree block type 1. The doctor told me it was nothing to worry about. I can't remember if the Holter monitor caught the pausing sensation that I feel now, but I feel this more when there is a little lack of sleep or stress. Is it dangerous to leave this without any treatment?

Check for Thyroid function tests, Electrolytes. 2nd degree Heart Block with symptomatic bradycardia will need Interventional Management (Pacemaker), otherwise routine follow up. Consult your nearest Physician/Cardiologist.

As the holter report suggests type I 2nd degree heart block doesn't require any treatment. And this pauses doesn't cause any problem in day to day life If in any point you feel giddiness and have syncope It is advisable to get ecg immediately Keep checking your ECG And Holter  if symptoms persist to see for increase in blocks
