My doctor prescribed statins 10mg for 2
My doctor prescribed statins 10mg for 2 months due to elevated total cholesterol - 270  Ldl - 185, Vldl - 27, Non Hdl - 216, Hdl - 46.. I heard once we start taking statins we should never stop them should keep taking them for whole life, dear Doctor's kindly reply is it true or no problem if i take it for 2 months, I'm worried? I don't have any other health issues other than high cholesterol..

31 years of age. Just Lipids abnormal values alone  do not warrant medicines. Must take full clinical evaluation like family history, diabetes, kidney and liver profile. Statins  have to be used judiciously.

Kindly continue statins till you get your lipid profile redone. Also pay attention to exercising minimun 30mins for 4 days a week.
