My 1 month old son does not sleep as suggested. I read that newborns should sleep for atlest 12-14 hours a day. But he does not sleep continuously even for 30 mins and once he wakes up he does not go back to sleep for straight 3-4 hours.. Is there anything we can do about it

Nothing to worry about your baby...as some babies during their development, physiologically changes their sleep patterns and habits, adequate timely mother feeds had to be given.
Next Steps
if baby wakes up..try to mother feed and make baby sleep...as inadequate feeding also causes disturbed sleep.
