Mucocele mouth
Two weeks back,i bit my lip as I thought some ulcer was there which wasn't going but it just got worse and in a few days the ulcer turned into a bubble. And this bubble is in my lower lip. Since it was there in my lip for around a week or two,i got it checked by a dentist and she said it's a mucocele and harmless and the only way to get it out is commonly surgery. Anyways. For the past 4 days I've been using salt water at least once to twice a day. Applying oroflora gel. Having becosoule capsules. The size has reduced very slightly and it has a slight whitish complexion that looks like a little white mucous is in it. Is the whiteness normal ? What are the stages of a mucocele healing ? Do I need surgery ? Is there any method just to drain it out without surgery ? Which doctor should I visit. But I don't want to do surgery. I want to know of a way to get rid of it without surgery and as fast as possible.

Hi, Some mucoceles spontaneously resolve on their own after a short time. Others are chronic and require surgical removal.  Several types of procedures are available for the surgical removal of mucoceles. These include laser and minimally-invasive techniques which means recovery times are reduced drastically. A non-surgical option that may be effective for a small or newly identified mucocele is to rinse the mouth thoroughly with salt water (one tablespoon of salt per cup) four to six times a day for a few days.
Next Steps
Consult your dentist.
Health Tips
A small amount of alum should be applied on the mucocele for around 10 to 15 minutes and then, rinsed off using a good mouthwash. Primrose oil can also be applied directly on to the cyst, in order to help it heal faster.
