If at 31 years of age you can't get rid of phobia for a non invasive investigation then only a Psychiatrist might be able to help you.
Please consult a Psychiatrist for further management.
You may be have claustrophobia ( fear of being in small closed places)
Talk to your doctor about it there are medicines which can be given to help you out during MRI
If you are claustrophobic and have a larger body ,look for availability of the open MRI machine in your area.Though the quality of the images obtained in open MRI machine is slightly inferior in comparison with closed MRI machine. However open MRI system accommodates you better in view of your phobia and weight.
You need to understand that the MRI may be important for you based on your doctors advice.
Speak to your orthopaedician about the issue.maybe he can prescribe an antianxiety drug for the same.
