If you are claustrophobic and have a larger body ,look for availability of the open MRI machine in your area.Though the quality of the images obtained in open MRI machine is slightly inferior in comparison with closed MRI machine. However open MRI system accommodates you better in view of your phobia and weight.

You need to understand that the MRI may be important for you based on your doctors advice. Speak to your orthopaedician about the issue.maybe he can prescribe an antianxiety drug for the same.
