Motion problem for 2 month old

My baby boy is 2 months old. He is popping alternate days. It seems he is pushing and try to poop but he is not popping. Sometimes he cries. I don't know whether he is crying because of that or is this normal?

It's normal for babies to pass stools up-to 10-12 times a day OR pass a motion after every 2-3 days. The number of motions is not important at this age,the consistency is,which should be soft and formed.
