Morning erections do not have to occur every day. Having one every couple of days can be completely normal and, by itself, does not establish erectile dysfunction. Masturbating 5–6 times a week does not permanently damage erectile function or testosterone levels, so complete abstinence is not medically necessary to “restore” morning erections. However, if frequent masturbation is associated with fatigue, compulsive behaviour, very intense stimulation or anxiety about sexual performance, reducing the frequency for a period may help you understand your natural arousal pattern. Your reported vitamin D level of 1.6 is extremely low and warrants medical attention, while your lipid profile also shows an unfavourable cardiovascular pattern (LDL 149.7, triglycerides 176.6 and HDL 33.3). Cardiovascular and metabolic factors can contribute to erectile difficulties.
Next Steps
A penile implant is absolutely not the next step based on what you have described. Implants are generally reserved for established erectile dysfunction when less-invasive treatments have failed or cannot be used. Since you are still having spontaneous/morning erections, there is no reason from this history alone to consider an implant. I would recommend discussing your very low vitamin D and lipid abnormalities with us and addressing your overall metabolic and cardiovascular health. If you continue to have difficulty achieving or maintaining erections during sexual activity, a personalised sexual-health/urological assessment would be appropriate. Health Tips
Continue regular exercise, maintain a healthy weight, sleep adequately and follow a balanced diet. You may reduce masturbation if you feel it has become excessive, but there is no need to completely abstain solely to improve morning erections. More importantly, avoid repeatedly checking whether you have a morning erection each day—this can create unnecessary performance anxiety. Your cholesterol pattern also makes lifestyle optimisation particularly important because high cholesterol, obesity and other vascular factors are recognised contributors to erectile dysfunction. Thank you
