Methylprednisolone 2 mg at night
I have been prescribed to take Methylprednisolone 2 MG at night time... I am diabetic and also take medicne in morning and long acting insulin 12 units Glargine at night before sleep... My fasting blood sugar is showing a rise despite taking insulin and having low carb early dinner strict diet control. Could medication Methylprednisolone 2mg have an effect on insulin and fasting blood sugar

It is steroid but 2 mg is a very low dose. Why were you prescribed steroid? Steroid are known to increase sugar level but low doses don't cause major side effects even in diabetic patients.So in right indications steroid can be taken for short duration which should be decreased in doses then stopped.
