Metapex in cyst removal surgery
I have cyst on tooth 22 root. Doctor suggested surgery to remove it. But before that, he did re- rct with metapex dressing . Now he told me to wait for 14 days then he complete rct and within one week he will do surgery. My question is that if surgery is already planned to do then what is need of metapex initially? It gives me pain on nose area.painkiller is adviced but hiw many days will i eat medicine after surgery they will prescribe again painkiller and antibiotics.

The cyst is due to the infection with tooth number 22, so the infection within the tooth needs to be controlled before removal of the cyst and also avoid recurrence. It takes 14 days for the metapex to act.
Slight pain and discomfort is normal.You don't need to take medicines for 14 days,If the pain is excessive contact your dentist immediately.

Yes everytime after surgery pain killers and antibiotics are prescribed to subside infection. Sometimes 5 days or even 7 days depending upon infection. Metapex also helps in eliminating infection.

Hi, generally there is no need of Metapex, but sometimes due to severe infection doctors generally apply Metapex to absorb infection in that area.
Antibiotics would be continued for 5 days following surgery & painkillers for 3 days or sos.

Metapex dressing is placed before surgery to reduce infection and inflammation inside the root canal and surrounding bone.
