Practo Doctor I consulted said that I can take a lower dose of medicine for anxiety hence to discontinue Nexit 5 mg and replace with Anxit 2.5 mg. My question is, do both the  medicines have same potency or Anxit 2.5 is really lower as I know Nexit  doesn't come in 2.5 dose. Earlier I used to take Amlopress 5 mg but later on my family physician changed it to Telpress 20 mg saying they have same potency as Telpress starts from 20 mg lowest. I just need to know whether really Anxit 2.5 has lower potency than Nexit. 5 because i dont need a higher dose though during my menopause I feel anxious and hence want to continue a lower dose. Nexit 5 suits me otherwise.

Ways to help yourself through depression and anxiety: 1. Exercise: Either it is walking/running/swimming/ or yoga. Or go hit the gym,it is also a great way to help you meet new people and make new friends. It makes you feel happier, more relaxed and less anxious. You may also feel better about yourself, which boost your confidence. 2. Practice Meditation & listening to your own breathing. It is other way of reducing stress. 3. Mental fitness: Same like your body needs exercise, your brain too needs exercise & training to work well, after all it is just a part, like any another part of the body. But it is not so simple to understand. Give it a challenge. Try to solve puzzles/sudoku/crosswords. Do solve some logical questions. 4. Enjoy yourself: Enjoyment is not just hanging out/ having fun with others. Everyone has their own way of it. Do what makes you happy. 5. Dwelling on past experiences: well, everyone makes mistakes after all we are humans..Don't regret about it,learn from it.Keep your mind open. 6. Listen to soft relaxing music: of instruments like flute, piano, violin. I personally like piano. It makes you feel good. 7. Practice positive self-talk: Simple rule, Don't say anything to yourself that you wouldn't say to anyone else. Accept the way you are, accepting yourself is the only way to overcome low self-esteem. 8.Overthinking: Overthiking is the misuse of imagination. "Less thinking, more living" Boredom is the main reason for overthiking. Instead, Try Change of the routine Go out doors Take up a new hobby Learn new skilks Keep yourself busy 9. Know who You are!!!: Yes, know about yourself.....Explore yourself, know your real worth, recreate yourself. Have some quality "ME" TIME!!! 10. Eat & drink right. 11. Have a good tight sleep. 12. Detach from social media: Don't spend much time online.Social media is a junkie to brain. It is making people unsocial. 13. Have a talk with your buddies:Maintain a good healthy relationships with fellow humans. Don't hang out with party poopers/ debbie downers. Talk with someone who makes you feel good and alive, who will make you forget about all atleast for a moment. Those friends can be your pets also; best friend, furry friend. And one more thing, Atleast have one older friend. You can learn a lot from them because their experience is of your age. Thinking about the past and being regretful and depressed about it ; Thinking about the future and being anxious is not good. Live in the moment, appreciate the beauty in every activity every second of the day. " Here and now," Hope this helps.

Anxit is alprazolam, a benzodiazepines class of drug. It is very short acting drug this high potential for developing dependence to it if used for long term. Long term meaning around 5-6 months. But different individuals have different tolerability hence it is advised to not use that drug very frequently. Benzodiazepines are used for insomnia and acute attacks of anxiety to give symptomatic relief. They do not as such treat the illness. A better longer acting agent is diazepam and clonazepam with lesser potential for dependence compared to alprazolam as per my experience and personal preference. Nexito is escitalopram a SSRI. It has no addictive potential and used to treat anxiety and depression. 5 mg was itself a low dose. Usually it is prescribed upto 10-15 mg. If you are not having symptoms of anxiety at 5 mg you can try to stop completely. Also. But if you do develop the symptoms you can consider starting back at 5 mg. And then as per response can be uptitrated under supervision of a psychiatrist. Both medications are not used for the same purpose as the other example of telmipress and almopress. These both are also different class of medication but ultimately work to decrease hypertension. The same is not true for alprazolam and escitalopram.
Next Steps
Wait and watch for the symptoms.
Health Tips
try not to use alprazolam very frequently. whenever uptitrating or downtitratinh a medication supervision of a psychiatrist is required as dose changes can result in side effects and if so they need to be addressed immediately by the psychiatrist.

Anxit is benzodiazepine and escitalopram is SSRI. Both drugs are different but used for anxiety disorders. Anxit is short acting and make you feel better if you panic attacks , etc while escitalopram is used to used for anxiety, depression this acts by changing neurotransmitter in brain and works better. Combine it with relaxation techniques, breathing exercises for better results.

Nexito is an SSRI - Selective Serotonin Receptor Inhibitor, whereas Anxit is a Benzodiazepine, primarily a SSRI works on serotonin and benzodiazepine on GABA, both being neurotransmitters in human brain. Though both are indicated in the pathophysiology of anxiety symptoms that an individual suffers, Benzodiazepines give a quick relief in anxiety symptoms not really working on baseline depression or causative anxiety spectrum disorder, whereas SSRI really works on targeting depression and anxiety symptoms by restoring neuronal function in brain.
Next Steps
If you are already asymptomatic since more than 6 months on same dose of Nexito, u may consider tapering it off slowly and I would suggest avoid regular use of Anxit except during episodes of overt anxiety. Given your menopausal period, there are likely certain hormonal changes manifesting or influencing your symptoms.
