Hello, By taking medication your symptoms should reduce and they should not cause any social or occupational difficulty. If you feel even after taking medication for 1 and half month there is no improvement then the medication should be changed and if their is some improvement visible then wait let your doctor gradually increase the dosage which will be best effective for you. Hi, late onset of mental illness symptoms requires to rule out neurological disease such as Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease. The duration of the treatment will depend upon the intensity of your symptoms and your body's response to the medication. Depending on the diagnosis, intensity of the disease and considering the recent onset of disease, Homoeopathy medicines stand a good chance to control and completely reverse the disease process if the the treatment is started as soon as possible. Homoepathic medicines can be taken along with the ongoing allopathy medicines which will help to keep the dose of allopathy medicines to the minimum possible, thereby preventing side effects. For any further queries you may contact me at WillPills Clinic via Practo online consult portal.
Next Steps
It is advisable to take a second opinion from a neurologist. It is recommended to start Homoeopathy treatment for the same.
