You may be on the path to overcoming depression, but aren't quite there yet. Hence, the signs of depression are still there. Mental exhaustion, reduced concentration and disturbed sleep are quite common in depression. I assume you want to ask why you have these problems even when you seem to be coming out of a depressive phase. The answer might lie in comparing the situation when you felt depressed the most and today's situation. You may have overcome some aspects of depression, giving you the hints of improvement. For instance, you may have dealt with thoughts of hopelessness, helplessness and worthlessness. These add a lot of weight to depression and when you deal with them, you definitely feel better. However, other features of depression may take longer to overcome. Mental exhaustion and reduced concentration ability could be results of unorganized thoughts and lifestyle, which in turn are the results of depression!
Next Steps
You can start with organizing your day to day life. Get a routine, if you don't already have one. A routine help organize on the outside. This can trigger organization of the thoughts in the mind. List your most important goals you want to achieve this month or the next 3/6 months. If the goals are too big, break them down to smaller and more manageable targets. Schedule your day. It may appear too mechanical to even think that way, but it might just be the thing you need. Once you schedule tasks, start taking action. Start with small tasks. One step at a time. Even if you're not able to fall asleep earlier than 1-2am, make a habit of going to bed early. Unless you have some very urgent pending work, don't allow yourself to stay up late at night!  Don't worry about the quality of sleep just yet. Start with forming the habit of going to bed on scheduled time. Increasing the concentration is a tough ask, but it is possible with practice. When you are doing tasks you have scheduled somewhere, you will find that your concentration levels increase without much effort. This happens because scheduled tasks are done with purpose and a certain level of motivation. Maintain a balanced healthy diet, good self care and a regular physical exercise routine. This should help you deal with exhaustion, concentration difficulties and sleep disturbance. Take care.
Health Tips
Don't use laptop/mobile once you're off to bed. Consult a counselor or a psychotherapist if you are not able to perceive any improvement even after following these steps.
