My mother(age 47) is suffering from meniscal tears in knee. The doctor has advised arthroscopy but she also have osteoarthritis.
I need suggestions what should we do
Should we go for surgery or conservative treatment ?

One needs to evaluate her by clinical examination as to what is the cause of pain. Both osteoarthritis and maniacal tear will cause pain. In any case conservative management with exercise should begin as there are no side effects of exercise. If not responding one needs to treat the cause.
