Melasma is a chronic condition easily overdiagnosed. Other causes of facial pigmentation need to be ruled out esp the metabolic disorders.
Depending on the depth of pigmentation treatment for Melasma is decided. The superficial variety responds to skin lightening creams.
The deeper ones need treatment like Chemical peels and laser.
Also exposure to sunlight and UV light has to be cut down.
Pls visit a dermatologist near you for proper assessment for your case. pls visit my website www.yslclinic.com for fixing appointment if u are from Delhi.
