Meformin and Insulin both in pregnancy

Asked for Male, 36 Years

My wife is 5 weeks pregnant. Her Hba1c is 6.0 . She was taking Glyciphage SR 500 twice a day. Blood sugar levels - fasting around 110 and pp 140 to 160. Now Our diabetologist started novomix insulin 4-6 units at night. Can we take both metformin and insulin together in pregnancy. Please suggest.
