Gargling With warm saline can be beneficial for other oral tissues but will not help in this condition. Going only by the description that you have mentioned and without a proper clinical examination, I can assume that either you have some lump on the tongue or this could also be the normal taste buds located at the back of the tongue. If you can post a good quality clinical picture with your tongue protruded out a better suggestion can be given.
Otherwise the best option would be to get yourself clinically examined by a dentist.
