Medicines for Diabetes
Hi Doctor, My mom has diabetes and high blood pressure. She is using the same medicines (glimprex1 for diabetes and Telma - AM for high BP) from a very long time. We had checked her diabetes 3 months back, which is now as follows 231 - blood sugar fasting and 257- blood sugar post prandial. I beleive we should change the medicines as the medicines are not helping  in controlling her diabetes. Can you please advise us on the medicines she should be using

Hi... The current medicines are inadequate as the fasting sugar needs to be 80-130 &. Post meal below 180. It would be preferable to know 1. Hba1c 2. Urine MICROALBUMIN 3. Creatinine value before suggesting new medications. Temporarily take one tab extra than what you are taking right now till you get the tests done
Next Steps
Get blood and urine test done, consult Endocrinologist / Physician for a digital prescription
Health Tips
Revisit diet and avoid simple carbs : white rice, potatoes, maida, juices., sugars, Walk daily half an hour if possible
