Hiii...my baby is 21 days old as i have urinary tract infection dr suggested me to use nitrofur sr 100 mg tablet can i breastfeed the baby while taking this tablet bcoz i read it's not safe to take while breastfeeding

Levelsof nitrofurantoin in breast milk are low, can be used while breastfeeding older infants. Avoid use in infants under 1 month of age and those with G-6PD deficiency at any age.

Nitrofurantoin is safe in pregnancy and lactation. It is supposed to be avoided only if the baby has G6PD deficiency.
It should be used for a short course (one week).

Needs to be evaluated for the same.
Anyways nitrofurantoin is safe during pregnancy and lactation.
