Manic depression
I have been diagnosed with manic depression about two years back when I had my first episode of mania. Now recently again m having depressive thoughts and don't feel any joy in doing anything. Please let me know what should I do. Can you give me a diet plan to follow for improving my mental health and keeping this disorder under control?

Hi You have bipolar mood disorder. Where you will have alternative mania and depressive phase in your life. It could be one manic episode or more. Right now you have depressive phase. Overall in this disorder medication has the primary role then comes counseling and therapy which is effective in depression. Your condition is called bipolar affective disorder. Yes some lifestyle modification, exercise etc will help to some extent but not completely. You will require medications to keep your episodes under control. If not medicated the episodes will recur and sometimes it will be severe.
Next Steps
I suggest you meet a psychiatrist or review with your treating psychiatrist for the current episode of depression and take his/her advise
